Remarkable Sinus Relief

Sinus balloon surgery utilizes a tiny balloon to dilate and remodel the opening of the sinus cavity, allowing your sinuses to drain and ventilate more effectively. Patients generally will experience an immediate difference from a procedure that takes just minutes.

After years of chronic sinus issues, Larry knew it was time to do something about it. That's why he trusted our team with his Balloon Sinuplasty procedure.

Watch Larry's story about life before and after Balloon Sinuplasty.

What Our Patients Say

What is Balloon Sinuplasty?

Balloon Sinuplasty (or balloon sinus dilation) is an in-office treatment option which allows sinus patients to experience significant improvement by treating the root cause of the recurrent infection.

The balloon sinuplasty procedure is performed by a board-certified sinus surgeon and typically takes 15 minutes. Often, patients can be back to normal routine within the same day!

Frequently Asked Questions

Patients often report immediate relief from the pain and congestion of their sinus infections. Because sinus balloon surgery is minimally invasive, recovery time is substantially quicker and patients experience reduced bleeding, bruising, and overall pain. Most patients are able to return to normal after 24 - 48 hours!
Since Balloon Sinuplasty involves no cutting or nasal packing, patients experience less pain and faster recovery than with traditional sinus surgery. We do offer the option of intravenous sedation with an anesthesiologist if you choose. The treatment is performed in the comfort of our dedicated sinus treatment room by our ENT specialists and a team of highly skilled staff.
Most insurances cover sinus surgery with the Balloon Sinuplasty device. To be 100% certain of your coverage, contact your insurance provider to find out.
Medicare patients specifically are covered for endoscopic sinus surgery when any combination of tools, including the balloon catheter, is used to perform the procedure.
Procedure length is dependent on your specific condition and anatomy. To allow time for pretreatment preparation and post-treatment examination, you should expect to spend around one and a half to two hours in our office.
Recovery time varies with each patient but most of our patients who have a Balloon Sinuplasty procedure return to normal activities such as work or school within a day or two.
Ninety-six percent of patients who have had a Balloon Sinuplasty sinus procedure have reported a drastic improvement in sinusitis symptoms.

Balloon Sinuplasty is less invasive than traditional sinus surgery and has a low complication rate. As with any medical procedure, potential risks and complications do exist.

Possible side effects include, but are not limited to, post-operative bleeding; pain and swelling; allergic reaction to anesthesia or other medications administered during the procedure; or infection. There is also a small risk of mucosal/tissue damage from the expansion.

Make sure to schedule a consultation with us to determine if your specific condition or anatomy may present any special risks.

Balloon Sinuplasty is usually an outpatient in-office procedure. Most patients undergo this in-office procedure with IV sedation or local anesthesia, but it varies from patient to patient depending on health and comfort level.
